This weekend, eleven people arrived from four different cultures to make up the Antofagasta, Chile church plant team. Eliel, originally from Mexico, his wife Renee and daughter Eliana are the cluster family who will oversee this team of missionaries. The 40/40 missionaries include: Felipe and Barbara from Chile, Camilla from Brazil, Leah, Travis, Lane, Shekinah and Maia from the USA.
Over the next three months, this team will be training here at the seminary. For Barbara and Felipe, this will mean taking seminary classes. Camilla who speaks Portuguese will be taking Spanish classes with the North Americans. During this time, they will also will be taking classes as a team from Extreme’s education manager/pastora Sarah. These will be a crucial three months of learning, team building and growing together.
We are super excited and blessed to have each and every one of these people here who have accepted the call that Christ has placed on their lives. Today, we had a small get together and time of blessing for these young missionaries. We want to continue to be in prayer for each of these 40/40s and the cluster family. This is a time of great transition and many cultures forming together. Pray that in Christ they will be unified to spread His amazing love and grace to Antofagasta.
John 17: 21-23
“That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
