Last week I officially put in my notice to leave work. It was bittersweet having to say goodbye to a place that has been so much part of my life for the past two years. I have met some amazing people there and I am truly saddened to say goodbye, but also excited to start a new chapter in my life. I think I took a while to write this blog post, because everything just started happening so quickly.
Justin and I got back from our vacation and jumped into planning mode. We designed and sent out prayer cards, put together an address list, received our budget and began to work on the website. I realized as soon as I got back how soon it was to departure and so I sat down with my manager and director and put in my notice of resignation. It was the first time I have ever had to do that so it was a different experience. I may have complained at times but I have already started to realize how much I am going to miss the patients I have cared for and that aspect of my work. Mostly what I am going to miss though is the team I worked with there on the floor. I know that I am going to have a new team and I am excited to get down to Ecuador and meet all of them.
As far as prayer goes, we are in need of a lot. Yes, we have a ton of fundraising ahead of that we just started to dive into, but we also have a lot of preparations to do before we leave Houston. We have a lot of things to sell and get rid of before we pack everything up and make the long haul from Houston to Nampa, Idaho.
